Most people have heard of Scandinavian furniture and design, but what exactly does it entail and what makes it different from other types of furniture? The design idea was inspired by minimalism with simple, clean lines. The Scandinavian countries of Denmark, Norway and Sweden were responsible for the development of this design in the 1950s. The design was originally meant for low-cost mass production; something that everyone could afford. Now, it has become a popular, trendy design in modern homes.
Scandinavian design has also been inspiration for interiors in the home outside of furniture. Masonite recently released a full line of doors, the West End collection, that was made with the look of clean, simple designs from Scandinavia.
